Location: Lilydale
I have a love for checking out alternative and healthy lifestyle cafes and decided why not share my review on them on here for you to check these cafes out yourself.
The Lilydale General is an alternative cafe tucked away in the industrial area of Lilydale, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne.
A bit of a regular haunt for me and my best mates. Always seems to be busy but the staff are very friendly and accommodating and we always manage to get a table. On a sunny day I’m always up for a spot outside in the sun, just to sit back and relax. Great place to check out anytime, for a coffee, brunch and catch up.
They’re menu is on the more alternative side but there is something for everyone and I find it perfect for me as there is gluten and dairy free options.
One of my favorite things to do, as soon as I walk in, is to scan the dessert case so I can decide what to buy for the drive home. There’s a variety of desserts , with a small range of raw vegan, paleo friendly desserts and treats that change each time I’m there. The menu includes and all day breakfast menu with pancakes, chia puddings, egg dishes and more. All the food being sourced locally, as there is an emphasis in supporting local food providers.
The cafe is fully licensed (for those who drink. I’m not a drinker anymore) but I’m more interested in the amazing sounding smoothie list on the drinks menu. Something I am yet to try as I can never decide on one. One day I will though.
If you ever are in the outer eastern ‘burbs then I highly recommend you stop by The Lilydale General if you are in need of breakfast or lunch or a coffee with a friend.
