White Night 2016 was spent wandering the streets, checking out everything the night had on to offer. One of the best little yes we stumbled across was a stand, on it’s own, selling chocolate coated, frozen banana pops. I’d seen home made versions of these nana pops up on Instagram every now and then, but this was my first time eating one. A frozen banana coated in dark chocolate. Two of my all time favourite foods, combined into one delicious treat. I was obsessed and may have eaten a couple in one go. White Night 2017. I had two goals for the night: see as much of the event as possible in 4-5 hours AND i must have another one of those yummy banana pops. Thankfully, we came across the stand earlier on in the night. I could barely contain my excitement. I decided it would be a great idea to have an endless supply of these delicious and healthy treats. After I got home from the city (and slept a few hours) I discovered how easy it is to make chocolate coated banana pops.
Ingredients:
- Bananas
- Dark chocolate (70% or higher or homemade raw chocolate-recipe to come)
- pop sticks
This is such an easy recipe, so make a bunch of them to keep stashed in the freezer for any time the sweet tooth cravings strike. I cut the bananas in half and put a pop stick in one end. Melt the chocolate. then using a spatula, coat the bananas so they are well covered. Lay them out on a tray and place them in the freezer. Devour once frozen.
See…super easy and you can even lick the melted chocolate off the spatula at the end. I won’t judge (I did it myself).
